Lumen Learning is an education technology company based in Portland, Oregon. They use open educational resources (OER) to create well-designed and low-cost course materials that replace expensive textbooks, working with over 200 colleges and universities across the US to help make education more affordable and accessible. I was excited to work with them on a range of graphic installations for their new offices, resolving to use single colour line work applied as die-cut vinyl across the vast windows in the space. The concept was to continue a theme of openess and inclusivity in the space both in the content and execution, ensuring the illustrations had a sense of presence without occluding the view in or out of the various spaces in the office.

The murals were based around the mission statement and culture of the company, communicating their values in a fun and immersive way. The main illustration window is collection of company values and calls to action for the employees, while the main type windows boldly embody the core mission of the company. These windows are also used as floating white boards during strategy meetings and brainstorms, creating a playful interaction between the illustrations and the day to day practical work they do.
